We run regular support groups for Autistic people, and Carers of Autistic people, serving the Alpine Shire and surrounding areas, as well as occassional community events.

Join us and other Autistic adults in a safe, welcoming space where we can share our stories, connect through shared experience, and offer each other mutual support.
Sunday 25th July
1pm - 3pm, Bright Community Centre
Em Hammond (NeuroWild on Facebook and Instagram) will be joining us by video, presenting about the challenges of being a Carer when you're neurodivergent yourself.
While the focus is on neurodivergent parents, we're sure the conversation will be helpful for any Autism carer, regardless of whether they are Autistic or not.

Em Hammond (NeuroWild on Facebook and Instagram) presented to our Peer Support Group by video, with discussion covering the Double Empathy Problem, self-advocacy, fawning and Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD).

Sandhya Menon visited us in person for a discussion about how Autistic experience, and how to best the Autistic people we care for.

Sandhya Menon joined us to present on Autism and ADHD, and the experience of being both Autistic and ADHD. We had great discussions exploring various aspects of AuDHD experience, and understanding which traits and challenges can come from these neurotypes.

Our Carers took a well-deserved break, connecting with other Carers while taking a mosaic class together and creating something beautiful.

Proud Autistic advocate, academic and author Sandra Thom-Jones visited us to share insights from her experience as someone who was diagnosed later-in-life, with discussion exploring important topics including Autistic health and well-being, Autistic Burnout and self-advocacy.

Sandhya Menon – developmental & educational psychologist, author, advocate and proudly Autistic and ADHD professional, presented to our local community including educators and professionals, about Autism and neurodiversity. Sandhya shared from her own lived-experience, and drew upon her professional knowledge, to help our audience get a better understanding of Autism, touching on the history of Autism, and various areas of Autistic experience.
